Which pathway is offered?

Hospitality, Tourism & Recreation—This pathway prepares students for success in hospitality and tourism by integrating various facets of the hospitality industry, including lodging, tourism, travel, and event planning. Students engage in practices and real-world experiences to support the learning experience related to industry such as organizational management, communication, and customer service/consumer behavior.

What types of jobs can my student learn about and prepare for?*

Examples of jobs include:

  • Food service manager
  • Lodging manager
  • Travel agent 

*Some of these jobs require additional education and certifications once a student graduates from high school.

  • ACT National Career Readiness
  • Certiport Entrepreneurship and Small Business (ESB)
  • Certiport Communication Skills for Business (CSB)
  • IC3 Digital Literacy–Computer Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Office certifications (up to four, each attainable in one semester)***
  • Servsafe

***Many Microsoft®️ Office certificates can be earned after completing one course. Other certificates require more classes to be better prepared, and students who participate in the program for at least two years will have further preparation for certification testing.
