A Milestone Worth Celebrating: The CAVA Class of 2026

Hundreds of California Virtual Academies (CAVA) seniors celebrated a milestone years in the making as they crossed the graduation stage in June 2026. Ceremonies held in Tracy, Fresno, Fullerton, San Diego, and online brought together graduates, families, teachers, and staff to celebrate the Class of 2026 and the many journeys that led to this moment. More than 1400 seniors earned their diplomas, marking the culmination of years of learning, growth, and achievement.

At each ceremony, keynote speakers encouraged graduates to embrace new opportunities, continue learning, and pursue their goals with confidence. Former K12 graduate Katlin Rowley addressed students in Tracy and Fresno, 2025-2026 Golden Apple Award recipient William Wogahn delivered keynote addresses in Fullerton and during the virtual ceremony, and longtime CAVA educator Patrick Pollock shared remarks with graduates in San Diego. Student speakers also reflected on the friendships they built, the challenges they overcame, and the experiences that shaped their high school years.

Each ceremony reflected the strong sense of community that defines CAVA. Families, teachers, and staff applauded as graduates crossed the stage to receive their diplomas. Hugs, cheers, and happy tears filled each venue as students celebrated an achievement they had worked toward for years.

The Class of 2026 included students who earned college credit while in high school through CAVA2College, led student organizations, volunteered in their communities, competed at the state and national level, balanced academics with athletics and the arts, and persevered through personal challenges. Their accomplishments reflect the many ways CAVA students prepare for life after graduation.

Graduation week left a lasting impression on CAVA staff as well.

“I posed for over 300 photos, handing diplomas to students at our Fullerton ceremonies. So many proud students and families were there to celebrate, and even though my cheeks were sore from smiling, it was worth it seeing students moved to tears, hugs, cheers, and relief,” said Sara Laurent, High School Assistant Director at California Virtual Academies.

Members of the Class of 2026 have continued their education at colleges and universities, enrolled in career training programs, entered the workforce, and pursued opportunities across California and beyond. While their paths take them in different directions, they will always share the accomplishment of reaching this milestone together.

Congratulations to the CAVA Class of 2026. Your achievements have made your families, teachers, and the entire CAVA community proud, and we look forward to seeing where your journeys lead next.
